Seniors
Protecting Seniors From Real Estate Fraud
Seniors hold enormous home equity and, too often, are the deliberate target of aggressive buyers and outright scams. We teach families how to spot the warning signs long before a document is ever put in front of them.

What we do
We help seniors and their families recognize the patterns behind common real estate schemes: unsolicited cash offers pushed to close in days, contractors who demand large upfront payments, unlicensed lenders proposing equity release deals that quietly strip ownership, and callers posing as government or utility officials to create false urgency.
This is education, not enforcement. We explain how legitimate transactions actually move, so any request that skips normal steps stands out immediately.
How it works
This guidance is woven through our seniors housing support and taught directly in our free seminars, including a session dedicated to downsizing and fraud protection. Families can also reach out any time a specific offer or contact feels wrong, before signing anything, and we will look at it with you.
If you believe fraud has already occurred, we will help you understand who to contact, including local police and provincial consumer protection authorities. We are an educational resource, not a law enforcement or legal service.
Who it is for
Seniors who own their home, and the adult children, caregivers, and neighbours who want to help protect them. Community organizations and care providers working with older adults are welcome to invite us to speak to their group.
Why JULY
We see real offers, real contracts, and real closings across the JULY Company every week, which means we recognize immediately when a document or a demand departs from how a legitimate deal actually works. That daily exposure is what we bring to every family conversation.
